Today I am going to be providing you with a review on Big Red Rooster’s BRRC107 Sound Machine with 6 sounds.

To those of you who don’t know, I suffer from a condition called Tinnitus. Tinnitus is when you hear a sound, when no external sound is present. For many people like myself, it comes in the form of a never-ending ringing sound in your ears. For others, it can sound like hissing or roaring. The best way I can describe the ringing sound that I hear in my ears is like if you go to a concert and you have that ringing sound that lasts a day or so after, except that mine is always present in my ears. It never goes away. It is there constantly 24/7. It is extremely annoying and honestly sometimes it can feel like it is literally driving me crazy.

Now, to an extent I have gotten “used to it”. There are times in the day that I forget about it. Typically, when I am working and going about my daily routine. However, the absolute worst time of the day is at night. The reason is the distractions of life are not present and you are in a much more quiet setting trying to sleep. It is the most noticeable during this point. I can’t cover my ears to escape it. So in order to sleep, I have to constantly have noise in the background. The noise needs to be loud enough to block out the ringing, but not loud enough to keep me awake. The noise also has to be soothing enough to help me fall asleep and not so annoying that I fixate on it and can’t sleep.

During the summer we have in window AC units and the sound from the Ac was a perfect distraction for me at night. It helped me fall asleep very well. Unfortunately, I live in Massachusetts and it gets COLD during the fall and winter. So recently the AC had to come out and I had to find another sound to replace the AC that I had gotten used to. I started doing a lot of research on the internet and eventually found myself on looking at Sound Therapy Devices. I was scouring the reviews trying to find a product that had the perfect sounds and the perfect price. I eventually came to the Big Red Rooster BRRC107 SOund Machine.

  • The main product features to note are that it has 6 soothing sounds: White noise, Ocean Waves, Thunder, Rain, Brook & Summer Night.
  • You can run this machine with batteries or you can attach a power cord and plug it into an outlet.
  • This comes with the option to set it on a timer for either 15, 30 or 60 minutes.

If I could describe my opinion of this product in one word it would be LIFESAVER! I have been using this product for about a month now and I am so grateful to have it. It was exactly what I was looking for. I have multiple sound options to pick from to help me fall asleep (I am personally loving the wave sounds) and the volume controls allow me to dial in to the perfect volume to help me overcome the ringing sound. The sounds run on a loop, but I will tell you now, you cannot tell when a loop ends. It is a flawless transition which is great because if I could hear the transition I would absolutely fixate on it and never fall asleep.

Another thing I love, is the ability to set a timer so that it turns off of a period of time. I typically set my timer to 60 minutes. This provides me with the perfect amount of time to doze off. There are times though, I have left it on all night and it was fabulous. I like that this product was also very low-priced. It is listed on for $19.99 USD and is free shipping for Prime members. I will be honest for such a low-cost, I was very worried it was going to be awful. I had seen many other decent sound therapy machines go for much more. So I was nervous. I, however, was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this product. I would absolutely recommend this to everyone who needs help sleeping or suffers from Tinnitus.

The only thing I wish this product could do would be the ability to set a custom time on the timer. It would be nice designate exactly how long I wanted it on for. But honestly that is not a deal breaker and that is honestly the only negative I have towards this product.

Take care!
